Nkope Hayford

Born to Jonas and Violet Matlou of the African National Congress of South Africa, born in exile in Gaborone, Botswana. She lived in Tanzania for three years with her family, and in Accra, Ghana, not long after the Kwame Nkrumah coup of 1966. Upon completion of her Associate’s degree in Journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, she returned to Botswana, worked with the Nigerian embassy in Gaborone as an Administrative Assistant to the First Secretary before joining the Botswana Department of Information and Broadcasting. She has worked for Radio Botswana as an anchorwoman and traveled with Ketumile Masire, the former President of Botswana on Presidential trips abroad, and during one of her travels, she had the opportunity to interview former President Nelson Mandela during a SADC conference in Harare, Zimbabwe. After ten years at Radio Botswana she migrated to the United States to continue her education. She thus obtained a Bachelors degree in Radio, Television and Film from Howard University in Washington D.C. with honors Nkope is married, and resides in the United States with her family.

Daniel Koroma

Mr. Koroma is a Community Liaison at the County Executive’s Office and the Community Liaison to the African and Caribbean communities. Mr. Koroma has worked with the many non-profits in the Washington DC area and sits on the Board of the Smithsonian National Museum of Africa Art. Prior to joining the County Government, Mr. Koroma worked as a Global Banking Strategist for Bank of American and later led the Global Trade Services Group for Bank of America in Northern Virginia. Mr. Koroma attended the University of Maryland, College Park where in majored in International Business and Public Policy. He also worked for the University’s Computer Science Department for two years. Mr. Koroma and his wife live in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Constance Mann

Mrs Mann is an Accounting and Finance professional in Washington DC. She has worked as senior research officer for the Bank of Namibia. She has expertise in training and capacity building in areas of macroeconomic management. Ms. Mann holds a Masters Degree in Economic Development from Williams College, USA; a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the North, South Africa; and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Namibia.

Mwiza Munthali

Bio- Silhoutte Man

Mwiza Munthali – For more than two decades, Mr. Munthali has worked to further TransAfrica’s outreach in the broader community. Currently, as TransAfrica’s Public Outreach Director, he directs the growth of the library, develops educational programs and events for the organization, identifies research material, oversees publications, and directs volunteers and interns. He maintains communication links with information specialists of various multilateral agencies, U.S. government offices, and African and Caribbean embassies and organizations. Mr. Munthali represents TransAfrica Forum in public forums, meets with international visitors, and speaks to student groups. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with a concentration in international development studies from the University of Iowa. He serves on the board of Aspire to Inspire, Malawi Washington Association. He was on the Malawi at 50 board.

 Victor Miller
