Announcement: Nominations for the SACU Gala Ubuntu Award

Nominate your favorite southern African organization or individual for recognition at SACU’s 10 Anniversary Gala.

Honoring Excellence in Service to the Southern African Community

Southern African Community USA (501c3) is proud to announce its inaugural Ubuntu awards, recognizing outstanding organizations and individuals making a significant impact on the Southern African community, both within the United States and in Southern Africa.

Eligible Organizations:

  • Organizations based in the United States that primarily serve the Southern African community.
  • Organizations operating in at least one country in Southern Africa.

Eligible Individuals:

  • Individuals of Southern African descent who are making a notable contribution to their community.
  • Individuals who are actively engaged in work that significantly impacts the Southern African community, either in the U.S. or on the continent.

Criteria for Selection:

  • Impact: The organization or individual’s work should have a measurable and positive impact on the Southern African community.
  • Innovation: The organization or individual should demonstrate innovative approaches to addressing community needs.
  • Sustainability: The organization or individual’s work should either be sustainable and capable of long-term impact or a short-term replicable relief project(s).
  • Community Engagement: The organization or individual should be deeply involved in the community they serve.

Award Ceremony:

The award ceremony will be held on October 12 at the SACU 10th Anniversary Gala.
