Honoring Excellence in Service to the Southern African Community
Southern African Community USA (501c3) is proud to announce its inaugural Ubuntu awards, recognizing outstanding organizations and individuals making a significant impact on the Southern African community, both within the United States and in Southern Africa.
Eligible Organizations:
- Organizations based in the United States that primarily serve the Southern African community.
- Organizations operating in at least one country in Southern Africa.
Eligible Individuals:
- Individuals of Southern African descent who are making a notable contribution to their community.
- Individuals who are actively engaged in work that significantly impacts the Southern African community, either in the U.S. or on the continent.
Criteria for Selection:
- Impact: The organization or individual’s work should have a measurable and positive impact on the Southern African community.
- Innovation: The organization or individual should demonstrate innovative approaches to addressing community needs.
- Sustainability: The organization or individual’s work should either be sustainable and capable of long-term impact or a short-term replicable relief project(s).
- Community Engagement: The organization or individual should be deeply involved in the community they serve.

The award ceremony will be held on October 12 at the SACU 10th Anniversary Gala.
