By improving access to technology and digital literacy skills, we can empower individuals and communities to thrive in the digital age.
Collaborative efforts between organizations are essential to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the vast resources and opportunities available online. Therefore, SACU is partnering with Digital Bridge (501c3), a local non-profit that has been training the African community in IT related jobs for several years.
Digital Bridge teaches basic computer literacy including keyboarding; Introduction to computers; Microsoft Office: (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Email), Website Design, podcasting, and CompTIAA+ and cybersecurity for people in our area. These courses change or are updated regularly so for more information about their current, we encourage you to visit their website. These course can help you get a job as a Service Desk Analyst, TechTechnical Support Specialist, Field Service Technician, or Help Desk Technician.
Digital Bridge has helped over 150 people in the D.C area get their dream job in IT. They offer classes both online and in person at their location in Montgomery Village, Maryland so there courses are accessible for those living in Montgomery county or beyond. The courses are also accessible for those that do not currently have the budget for taking expensive IT courses because the cost for the courses are covered by contributions to the organization.
