Mercy Changwesha, Esq. is an attorney licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Minnesota. She resides in Durham, North Carolina.
Ms. Changwesha graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia where her major was Legal Studies & Conflict Resolution with a minor in International Studies. She went on to receive her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law where she was very active in the University's Public Interest Law Association.
After receiving her J.D., Ms. Changwesha joined the staff at Access Justice, a non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the time. With the organization, Ms. Changwesha worked with various communities in Minneapolis advocating for equal access to justice for low-income residents. Ms. Changwesha later worked for law firms in Atlanta, Georgia; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ms. Changwesha eventually found herself at home in Durham, North Carolina. True to her roots as an equal justice advocate, Ms. Changwesha founded a law firm that she believed would serve others regardless of their background. As part of her commitment to equal representation and justice under the law, Ms. Changwesha puts in several pro bono hours every year.
