Onica Nonhlanhla Makwakwa is the Founding Director of The Wise Collective (dba Wise 4 Afrika). An advocate for digital inclusion who brings 25 years of work experience at the global level in public policy, advocacy, and fundraising for women’s and civil rights issues. As national steering committee member of #TheTotalShutdown Intersectional Womxn’s Movement, she chaired the policy portfolio which led the collective development of the 24 demands delivered to the President of South Africa, Parliament and Court of Appeals on August 1, 2018.
She recently served as a member of the Presidential Interim Steering Committee on GBV and Femicide (GBVF) which developed the National Strategic Plan to guide national response to end GBV and Femicide.
