Dr. Ruvi Tsokodayi English earned a PhD in human development and family science from Virginia Tech in 2019 and prior to that earned a master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Mercy College in 2014. Her research and professional interests are in child and adolescent development, parenting and parent-child attachment, and family stress and coping among immigrant and refugee families.
Dr. English is a senior research analyst in Charlotte Mecklenburg School district’s Office of Accountability in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is a former assistant professor of human development and family science at Winthrop University.
Dr. English enjoys spending time with her family when she is not working; her husband is a middle school teacher and they are enjoying being parents to a new baby girl.
