Food For All: Food Assistance for Africans Outside Montgomery County

Although SACU’s partnership with Manna Food Center is focused on Montgomery County residents, this doesn’t mean that help is not there for those of you living outside this county. If you live outside of Montgomery County, Maryland, and need food resources, the list below provides information by county and state of food assistance programs that provide food assistance for all Africans living in the United States. Since each organization operates differently and provides a range of requirements and services, you will need to check for their program requirements which each individual organization. You may also need to ask them if they are a government program or a non-profit organization. Please keep in mind that due to the current pandemic, most food centers are waiving their requirements – Just because you have a job or some type of income, it doesn’t mean that you are automatically disqualified from getting assistance. It is not uncommon for people receiving food assistance to be working adults or living with working adults. Everyone needs assistance sometime – even in a “land of opportunity” – and we hope that Africans will use some of the services available to them.
