Augusto is a son Africa from both Mozambique and South Africa, who has over 20 years of experience in Public Health, specifically in the areas of STDs/HIV/AIDS/TB and SRH, both nationally and internationally. He is currently a Program Manager for International Programs at Howard University. He is a multilingual health professional specializing in the prevention, care, and mitigation of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, TB, and Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH). He has worked in the public health sector for 19 years as an educator, counselor, reviewer, country advisor, regional technical advisor, program manager, and capacity builder for individuals, organizations, and government personnel and programs.

He has extensive experience working with federal, local, state, and national health departments; Community‑Based Organizations (CBOs); Faith‑Based Organizations (FBOs); Associations of People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA); nonprofit organizations; and other government departments. He currently serves on the Board of SACU as Director of Event Coordination and Social Relations.
